Film and storytelling run in her blood. Her grandmother was a respected screenwriter for Japanese dramas in the 1930’s, while her mother’s love of films and television filled her childhood with stories. Surrounded by drama from an early age, she developed a deep appreciation for the complexity of human emotions and the power of storytelling. The nuances relationships, struggles and personal journeys portrayed on screen continue to inspire and shape her creative vision as an aspiring filmmaker and editor.
Much of her work is accompanied by cinematic music, a genre that has long been a source of inspiration for her creative process. Her appreciation for cinematic storytelling is deeply connected to her extensive background in classical music. As a musician, she served as concertmaster of her high school orchestra and competed in numerous classical piano competitions. Her achievements include multiple awards, highlighted by a First Place finish in the Great Lakes Regional Piano Competition at the age of 17. These musical experiences continue to influence her sense of pacing, emotion, and narrative in film editing and visual storytelling.
Drawn to Los Angeles by a passion for acting, she eventually realized that the stories she wanted to tell mattered more to her than the roles she could play. It was behind the camera that she found her true creative calling. Her lifelong love of drama, deep understanding of cinema and music, meticulous attention to detail, and relentless pursuit of excellence have shaped her approach to visual storytelling. With a strong commitment to continually refining her craft, her long-term aspiration is to create emotionally driven commercials and short films that move people, challenge perspectives, and inspire meaningful connection.
